Eleanor Lowden began her career as a professional artist 30 years ago living in Ontario.
Her love of art began very early, and she has always expressed an interest in learning as well as making art. Eleanor studied fine arts at the University of Western Ontario, and continued her studies in art and watercolor at the Ontario College of Art, the Alberta College of Art and through various workshops to broaden her scope. In 1994 she joined the Toronto Watercolor Society . Eleanor and her family made Calgary their home for fourteen years. For 28 years she grew her brand as Eleanor Lowden Pidgeon. In 2014 she moved back to Toronto where she maintains a studio in her home, and continues to paint the people and the landscape that inspires her, and has rebranded herself as Eleanor Lowden. She has rejoined the Toronto Watercolor Society, and became the President in the spring of 2016.
In the fall of 2015 Eleanor was accepted by jury into the Ontario Society of Artists.
A large part of her learning comes through teaching art. She has taught the drawing class at the University of Calgary, Certificate Program and teaches “Courageous Watercolor” and acrylic painting workshops at various venues in and around Toronto.
